Four Seasons Hotel Singapore

Being a Receptionist is no longer just about doing registration/cashiering duties for our guests. We have to be equipped with several skills and knowledge so that we could enhance our guest experience here in Singapore while maintaining the image/brand of the hotel. Thus, I am truly blessed to be exposed to this competition that enables me to enhance the experience of our guests.

During the preliminary round and finals, it was very nerve-wrecking. Seeing all the contestants putting in their best effort for the competition encouraged me to do even better. Leading up to that, I seek guidance from my superiors and colleagues with things that I was unsure about, especially when it was shared during the briefing or courses. Also, I challenged myself to handle all guests queries/complains on my own instead of handing them over to my superiors immediately. Now, I feel more confident in performing my duties as well as handling our guests.

Representing Four Seasons Hotel Singapore in Receptionist of the Year 2019 has allowed me to deepen my understanding of the industry through the courses that was arranged for us. Real life scenarios and ideas were shared by all finalists which allowed us to find ways to tackle certain issues that we face on a daily basis at work. With that, it also made us forge new friendships and build connections which are very crucial in our industry.”
