Being able to represent Mandarin Oriental Singapore to take part in this Receptionist of the Year competition has been a great honour and privilege. This ROTY journey has truly been a once in a lifetime experience for me, a journey filled with mixed emotions of both excitement and nervousness. This opportunity has widen my industry circle meeting the best hoteliers from all over the city. My biggest take away from this competition is that it has provide me with the extra confidence when handling guests and a similar difficult situation may be handled differently that may yield better results.

None of this would have been possible without the guidance and support from my Front Office team especially from Ian, Yi Ming and Grace who have guided me throughout this entire journey, providing me with all their valuable insights and advice that they had from their past ROTY journey to better equip me. Additionally I am extremely grateful to have Abigail for pushing me to take up this challenge and her beliefs in me throughout the competition. Last but not least, a big thank you to the ARDE committee for organizing all the workshops thus far allowing me to meet other hoteliers and understand how differently each hotel operates even though everyone is belongs to the Front Office department.
